[LIFE WITH KETRA CHAPTER THREE]

LIFE SURE IS USELESS

After some days, I started drinking and using all sorts of drugs because I thought they would give me comfort and reduce my stress.

And as usual, Christian made his usual routine to my room.

I felt disgust, pain, regret, and mixed feelings whenever he touched me, and soon just lost track, and Christian did whatever he wanted with me.

I became a shadow of myself.

One time, he brought two other women to the house.

“We are doing something new today, sweetie… we are bedding together with these two,” Christian said.

Since I was now a wasted and unhappy person, we had a threesome that night.

We could go clubbing, and he could sleep with all kinds of people, including men, and use drugs too.

“Please God, have mercy on my soul and forgive my actions” are the words that rushed within me.

“I admire your strength, my bestie… going through such havoc and you’re still up… thumbs up, my dear,” Ketra says tearfully as she comforts Gabie.

“Christian, you’ll surely pay for this.”

HOPE

Days passed, and Gabie is coping with her new life because she’s now in rehabilitation.

She has joined a group of women fighting for the emancipation of rape victims.

Actually, she’s building a facility for helping such people with a place to stay, clothes, food, and how to live normally again.

“Over there, please place them down gently.”

“Am loving how the place is transpiring, thank you, everyone.”Gabie thanks her team.

Phone buzzes:

Message from an unknown number:

“Where you at, package has arrived…

“Coming now, don’t move a muscle.”Gabie smiles and rushes off.

Ketra is moving on too with the two most beautiful people in her life, the twins.

They look so cute in their tiny little clothes, as she was blessed with both a boy and a girl.

She brought them a nanny who stays with them from morning to evening hours when Ketra returns from work.

She went back to work as a promising lawyer, and so many lawsuits are coming into her courthouse.

The one she’s working on is tough because it’s between a serial killer who has tortured and killed so many people.

It’s seven in the morning, and the hearing is to start soon.

“Rise…

“Sit….

“Good morning, everyone”

“Regan Sekitoleko against the nation of Uganda.”

“He murdered many in cold blood, and others’ bodies are still missing.”

Hearing continues as many witnesses are brought to testify.

After a whole three hours, the court is put on hold, and people rest for a while.

“All rise….

“Sit…

“As we’ve had from both sides, jury, let’s get your verdict on this case.”

“We find the defendant guilty.”

“Regan Sekitoleko is guilty and is charged with life imprisonment with no parole.”

“Rise….

After some time….

“All I need is a relaxing bath and massage…”Ketra says.

“How are my babies today…as she smuggled them with kisses.

At an unknown destination…

“Hahaha…you really thought you would get away with what you did to me”

“I really went through a lot… but as they say, karma is real, and it has really come to haunt you.”

“Please forgive me, I really am sorry… I was so egotistical… I’m sorry, Gabie.”

Was that Christian’s voice? Could he be the package that arrived for her?

“Nooo….gunshots sound as he drops dead.

“That was fun… hahaha.” Gabie laughs out loud.

A few weeks later, while Ketra is busy with work, she receives a call.

“You’ve got yourself a new assistant; you’ll see him soon.”

“Will be glad to; I had a lot of work on my hands.”

Knock, knock, knock…someone at the door.

“Come In…

A fine-looking man walks into the office.

“Good morning, m’am, it’s so nice to meet you”

“Am Mark…how are you doing today?”

“Judge Ketra at your service.” She felt butterflies in her stomach as they shook hands.

Will this relationship work out fine….just watch the space.

And as for Gabie, will she get away with that murder?
